Though born in the 80's and raised in Los Angeles, California, Nicole Simone was fascinated with old films from a very young age. She writes all her music with the same love for nostalgia. Her influences range from David Lynch to Tom Waits to New Orleans funeral processions. Her music is haunting, intoxicating and timeless illustrated by a unique instrumentation of guitar, marxophone, orchestron, trumpet, mandolin, vibraphone, piano and ukulele. Nicole just completed her first EP, which was released March 2010. On the opening track en___led, "The Wedding Song" actor/musician Jason Schwartzman lent his talents on drums and banjo.
Her music can be heard in several films including "The Good Life" starring Bill Paxton, Zooey Deschanel, and Harry Dean Stanton. She has opened for artists such as Ed Harcourt, Jesca Hoop, Maria Taylor and Diane Birch.
