Doll's Bathing Suit Guide
Beach Stylin' and Wave Ridin' June 21st, 2012 at 9:51am

Summer is upon us. You know what that means? Time for water fun: pools, beaches and cool vacays. Whether you already have a few bathing suits, or you're on the prowl for a new one or two, this is your go-to guide for looking stylish in the summer sun!

If you're taking your old suits out, check to see if any of them are faded. If you have more than one, use the more worn out ones during instances you're going to be spending a lot of time in chlorine (like a really chlorinated pool or hot tub). There's no rule saying you need to get a new suit every year. Just make sure what you're wearing still fits and covers the important parts!

When looking for a new suit, start with a few basic styles to try on in the dressing room. (Never buy a bathing suit without trying it on first.) Since they fit so closely to your body, it's important to see the fit and size in person before you're beachward bound. When you try them on at the store, bring your mom or bff. Experiment with cute patterns, just watch out because sometimes super big patterns look strange. If you love bright colors, try expressing yourself with the color of your suit. Vibrant hues can attract the eye (and maybe even a cute boy!)

And remember you don't always have to wear an itsy bitsy bikini. Sometimes a tankini or one piece can be just as cute! (If you don't know what's a tankini, pronounced tank-e-knee, it's just a two piece with a tank-top-like top that goes down almost to the start of the bottom bikini bottom). If bikinis are your style, you can "fake" having more suits (and be creative) when you mix and match different tops and bottoms. Keep in mind girls, you don't need 10 different suits. Just one or two that fit nice will be all you need for a picture perfect summer.

Because I'm an awesome big sis (and fashionista) who is always looking out for you, girls, I want to remind you, be careful of the sun! If you really want to look tan (and you're allowed to), try tan-colored lotion instead of laying out in the sun for long amounts of time. The sun can damage your beautiful skin and possibly cause future health problems. If you go out to the pool or beach, always wear SPF sunscreen, no matter how long you're out. You can even get sun damage or burns on your lips, so take along some Lip Smacker SPF 24 balms. What better way to protect your lips than with tasty, super cute Lip Smackers?!? There are even some really awesome Sun Smacker SPF 24 newbies coming out soon!

Hope this helps you look fashionable in the waves, girly. Have a fun summer!

<3,
Lip Smacker Doll
