When Your BFF Moves Away Friends are an amazing and important part of life. Some girls stay lifelong friends, and others part ways in a few weeks. When a really good friend moves way, it's important to remember the good times and keep the friendship alive, even when there are miles and miles between the two of you!
Miss Smackers herself has had friends move away. I know how hard it is! When someone is in your life on a daily basis, it's sad to lose that connection. However, you can still be friends! The best way friends keep in touch is by regular contact. Try writing emails, greeting cards or call every day. You could even play computer or phone games online together. Maybe do a video chat! And if you loose touch for awhile, there's no harm in calling up randomly to say "What's up?"
Make a scrapbook of the good times you've shared and plan a "going away party," even if the party just entails a movie and some snacks. The two of you can also make a necklace or friendship bracelet that symbolizes your history together.
Keep in mind, even if you lose touch, there's always a piece of the person with you. The memories and whatever you've learned from the person will stick around forever.
The short story is if you care about someone, make an effort to keep in touch. But if the friendship fades over time, know it's not your fault, and you will make lots of other friends through life. Remember, that special friend will always be part of who you are today!
XOXO,
Miss Smackers

I think I've moved away from 4 good friends and had 5 good friends move away from me. :(
I only have contact with one of them now and she moved away 2 years ago.
I still consider her my best friend.
