School daze School is a huge part of life. From early morning to late afternoon, you're behind a desk, dealing with classmates or learning from teachers. This can bring up all kinds of issues with friends, homework and so much more. The important thing to know is it's all part of the learning process of growing up. Remember none of this is permanent and YOU are in charge of how you handle everything that's thrown in front of you.
Try to learn from any difficult school experiences. Challenge yourself with what YOU can do to make situations better. During class, pay attention. Raise your hand when you know the answer. Make friends with the person sitting next to you in each class. Time flies when you're engaged. And you'll get more out of every moment, too.
Instead of waiting for school day to be over, enjoy it. Join a couple after-school activities. It's an easy way to make friends. Don't forget the reason you are there, to learn and grow. Put your personality into what you do so it's not so boring!
Organization is something to keep in mind, too. Always update your planner after each class with homework assignments. If you are in an afterschool club or sport, mark meetups and practice for each week in your planner. Whenever you hear of anything you need to do, write it down.
We know homework can be stressful. If you have a lot of homework, try to estimate how long each assignment will take, and plan out your evenings. Try splitting longer projects up over days. Always allow a short break every 50 minutes to regroup. Reward yourself with a TV show, good book or walk outside. Don't wait for the weekend to catch up on sleep! Be sure to go to bed at least 8 hours before you need to wake up. You'll do better and feel better, too.
Hope you take some of these ideas to help make your school days the best they've ever been!
XOXO,
Miss Smackers
